Idea...
Ok, well you know how we don't really have any idea whatsoever of how to plant a church? Well, I was thinking maybe we can be proactive about sharing that knowlege. I have been reading the Church Planting from the Ground Up, which is helpful and insightful, but it seems to assume that people have a knowlege of church planting to start out with. I thought maybe as we go along in this whole process we can record our thoughts, frustrations, insights, a time line, our questions about ourselves and our ability to plant and all of that stuff, and then put it into a packet/workshop/book kind of format to help other aspiring planters. I have started to think about a title and a cover illustration if we were to go with a book idea. It could be called Green Thumbs: for church planting newbies, both because we are "green" at church planting and because it refers to planting (church planting). I like when book titles have multiple meanings. Or it could be called bicbacbook. Also, the cover design could be a picture of the redesigned Nate.
Maybe it sounds dumb, but it was just a thought, tell me what you think.

It doesn't sound dumb. It may not be practical for all of us to have a lot of time to put into it, but we could give it a shot. Actually, I'm not sure if you're even serious about that. Was that a joke? I need voice inflection to decifer. Well, if you're serious, I would be willing to journal as I learn-al. I enjoyed the journaling on the trip.

Nate, I am serious. And I am not saying that we should try to write a book now. What I am saying is that it would be cool if we were intentional about keeping track of our own journey and then if things go well we could compile it to help others.

I think your title is the best title I have ever heard...no, seriously, ever...like...ever.

Awesome. I'm down with that. That really is a good idea, I just couldn't tell if you were being serious. I mean, who are we to say that God isn't leading us down this path in order to help hundreds, thousands, even millions of people do the same? He is certainly big enough to make it happen. And it certainly falls in the category that most interests Him: Glorifying Himself. I like it when people dream big. So, we will be intentional about recording our thoughts and activities in this journey. Do you consider yourself a visionary person? That could be one of your gifts.

Can we put in a chapter about how bagels promote Christian fellowship?

I've always wanted to write a book, I've started a few but I'm not really what you would call "good with my words" for instance...bic bac bah. So maybe a team book would be good. I would say that Joe would prob rate high on the viosionary scale, but his good intentions are usually fulfilled. Once he has an idea like this he will work so hard on it untill he comes up with a final product. I think this could be helpful as well.
And, Whitney...bagels?? Let's try to be serious remember that song about grow up and throw up...well I'm singing it right now.

Whitney,
If you think Bagels promote Christian fellowship I say go with it. I love bagels. One of my other ideas (I doubt it will ever come to fruition) is creating a business called Joe's New York Pizza and Bagels which will sell New York Style bagels and pizza. I like it.
