Tithe
So we are begining to get some money in our account and remembered that we had decided to tithe to church planting. Do we have any ideas on how we want to do that? I was thinking about talking to SPCF and giving them our tithe with the idea that it goes to new church planting in the future. That is just one idea.
We have a meeting with a church tonight. Please pray that it goes well. Nate and Whitney, I look forward to hearing from you about North Terrace. I also look forward to seeing 300, about the battle of Thermopolea.

I like that idea Joe. Another idea is that we could hold the money ourselves (or have SPCF hold it for us to give to church plants that sprout from our project.

I like both ideas. We haven't looked into any other options at this point. As long as we're obedient, God will use it!

I like the idea of it going to church planting projects that might sprout off of the one that we will be working on. In my opinion, I would rather see it held by SPCF for that purpose than by ourselves. I just don't like the idea of holding onto the tithe ourselves, or really even deciding exactly how the money should be spent, which is why I feel more comfortable with giving it to SPCF to use on NEW church plants. That is just my thinking and I don't oppose the other suggestion, but I am hesitant about it. However, whatever the team decides is cool with me.
BTW (that means by the way for all of you cats who aren't down with web lingo), we are speaking with the leadership of another church tomorrow evenin. A couple who we are good friends with are involved with the church (he is the youth and worship minister, she is the director of missions). Please shoot up a prayer if you think about it.

I hope your meeting went well. I did pray for you guys. Whitney and I met with the FCA group at the local high school in Danville this morning. That was fun. They are going to do a pancake breakfast fund raiser for us! I like those kids.

Wow, sounds like things are going well over there. Joe, I agree with you completely. It would be wise to send that money away from us. Giving to a future plant of ours is almost like giving it back to us. If we want to create a trust fund of sorts from the tithes we get from our congregation, fine, but the tithes we give should be out of our control. Good call.
